During an annual review process, I was told that my rating and associated bonus was diminished because I stated a dissenting/opposing view about the organizations treatment of straight, white, conservative, married males employees in front of a lower grade staff member. I was further informed that as a Director of the organization, I was expected to support the organizations social justice efforts by voicing aligned comments. I asked if I made statements aligned with the organizations mantra while a lower grade employee was present would I have received a higher annual rating and increased bonus amount?
